British wealth manager Brooks Macdonald has appointed Ben Mackie as investment director to its Taunton office.
Mackie will be part of the firm’s bespoke portfolio service team, and will be responsible to oversee discretionary portfolios.

He will also be responsible for growing the firm’s professional adviser network in the South West of England and Wales.
Mackie most recently served as a portfolio manager at UK-based wealth manager Charles Stanley. At the same time, he was also a member of Charles Stanley’s investment strategy committee and structured product team.
Before joining Charles Stanley, he served at Barclays Wealth and Butterfield Private Bank.
