In his new role, John will be involved in the provision of asset allocation and fund selection for model portfolios and risk-graded investment strategies and will work closely with CIO Gill Lakin.

John’s appointment will expand Brompton’s multi-asset business.

Prior to joining Brompton, John served as chief executive of Investment Management Selection (IMS), which controlled some £5 billion in assets. He also worked as chief executive of ECU Group, a currency and multi-asset specialist.

Following the firm’s acquisition by BNP Paribas in 2008 John was then chief executive of the UK arm of FundQuest.

Founded by Duffield in 2009, the firm currently manages £1.2billion in assets under management, around £800 million of which is in for external funds.
