Brewin Dolphin’s head of research, Matthew Butcher, has left the firm after a spell of nine years to take some time out of the industry.
Butcher joined Brewin Dolphin in October 2004, initially as head of fund research before being promoted to head of research for the wealth manager in 2008.

Prior to joining Brewin Dolphin, Butcher worked at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, where he was responsible for fund selection within the strategic investment group.
Butcher’s departure comes after the firm’s head of regulation and risk, Barry Howard, left in September and a board reshuffle in March this year led to the departure of a number of senior figures, including former chairman Jamie Matheson.
