Bank of America Merrill Lynch has named Tim Waddell as new vice chairman of corporate and investment banking for Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA), effective September 2014.

Based in London, Waddell will report to Bob Elfring and Diego De Giorgi, co-heads of Emea corporate and investment banking.

In his new role, Waddell will be responsible for boosting relationships with the US bank’s key British clients as well as developing new senior relationships across the corporate broking and UK advisory business.

In addition, Waddell will work closely with Simon Mackenzie-Smith, BofA’s chairman of UK and Ireland corporate and investment banking.

Waddell has joined BofA from UBS, where he has worked for almost 30 years in investment banking.

He has held several roles at UBS including chairman of UK coverage and advisory, co-head of the UK investment bank, co-head of UK investment banking, and co-head of corporate broking. Waddell has started his career at SG Warburg.
