BNY Mellon has appointed Ileana Sodani to the newly created role of head of relationship management for the asset servicing business in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Sodani, who earlier worked as chief relationship officer of Pershing’s EMEA unit, will currently be based in London.

She will be managing all asset servicing and Eagle relationship development staff in the region. Sodani will report to asset servicing CEO Samir Pandiri and asset servicing CEO for EMEA Hani Kablawi.

Sodani joined BNY Mellon’s New York office in 1991, and later shifted to its London unit in 2000.

She was appointed as the company’s global business executives for asset servicing in 2013, and also serves as EMEA executive sponsor of the firm’s resource group IMPACT.

She brings considerable depth and breadth of expertise in strategic business development, client management and risk management to this leadership role, as we continue to develop our institutional client base across the EMEA region. Providing safekeeping, technology, data and fund services solutions to financial institutions and asset owners is a key driver of growth for BNY Mellon in the region," Pandiri said.
