American investment firm BNY Mellon has launched its Asia-Pacific separately managed accounts (SMA) business in Singapore.

The firm has named Chris Faddy as head of distribution of managed investments. He will be responsible for expanding the business in Singapore and Hong Kong, theasset.com has reported.

In addition, he will also be responsible for identifying new markets, managing the wholesale team build out and the SMA marketing and educational initiatives.

Faddy joins the company from Credit Suisse Asset Management in Singapore.

BNY Mellon Asia-Pacific SMA business president and CEO, AJ Harper, was quoted by theasset.com as saying, "We want to be the first in Asia to provide a solution to private bankers and asset managers who seek the latest investment infrastructure and educational training now required to meet client demand for high quality discretionary advice."
