Collis will work alongside Caire in building insurance and pension solutions designed for Asian investors.
Collis with over 25 years financial services experience joins BNY Mellon from MetLife where he was primarily responsible for growing the company’s bancassurance business across Asia-Pacific. He joined MetLife’s Sydney office in 2005 following the Travelers acquisition by MetLife and relocated to Hong Kong in 2007.
Prior to MetLife, Collis has worked in Australia with Citigroup Australia and Zurich Financial Services.
This move follows the appointment of Albert Yeh in July 2013, who also joined the team as a managing director, reporting into Caire, underlining BNY Mellon’s significant growth in the region.

"The global shift in aging demographics and the related social strains for retirement incomes has been well documented. This issue is especially relevant in Asia-Pacific where all markets are facing significant pension shortfalls.
"Richard’s appointment will help us develop innovative and differentiated solutions to assist insurance and pension providers help their clients plan for wealth creation and income for a higher quality of life in retirement," Caire added.
