BNY Mellon has expanded its wealth management team by hiring Brian Seidman as new regional managing director.

Seidman, in his new role, will be responsible to boost BNY Mellon Wealth Management’s business on Long Island, according to Reuters.

He will report to Robert Schwerdel, who oversees the firm’s Tri-State region.

Seidman’s appointment comes as part of the firm’s plan to expand its presence in US wealth markets, including the greater New York area.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, he worked for 12 years in leadership roles at U.S. Trust. Before to this, he served as a senior investment strategist at Julius Baer Investment Management and chief investment strategist for JP Morgan’s Global Private Bank.
