BNY Mellon has appointed Monique Herena as its senior executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective 28 April 2014.
In her new role, Herena will be responsible for leading the firm’s global human resources organization and direct the strategies, policies and practices which support more than 50,000 employees.

Herena will report to Gerald Hassell, chairman and CEO of BNY Mellon, and serve on the executive committee.
Previously, Herena served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer for global beverages, global foods, and global functions at PepsiCo.
Commenting on the appointment, Hassell said: "Herena joins us with an impressive track record of leadership and results in overseeing the human resources functions at large, globally diverse organizations.
"Her experience with and commitment to developing a high-performance culture linked to business success, organizational effectiveness and innovation will serve our organization well as we continue to grow our position as the investments company for the world."
