BNY Mellon has appointed Imad Abukhlal as head of Middle East and Africa of BNY Mellon Investment Management EMEA.

Based in Dubai, Abukhlal will report to PeterPaul Pardi, CEO of Asset Management EMEA and global head of distribution at BNY Mellon Investment Management.

In his new role, Abukhlal will be responsible for the development and management of all business capabilities across the region.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, Abukhlal with over 18 years of experience as an investment manager, most recently worked at Western Asset Management (WAMCO), as senior executive officer and head of the Dubai office, where he was responsible for distribution, client service, and marketing for Middle East, Africa, and Central Asia.

Earlier to this, he worked at Lyras Financial Services, a multi-family office, as an analyst and portfolio manager.

Pardi said: "’In addition to the expanded geographical coverage and institutional clients, Abukhlal is also responsible for building out additional client segments as well as heading up the region’s investment management team."
