Bimal will lead the group’s wealth management unit in India and the teams located overseas who manage Non Resident Indian (NRI) clients’ assets invested in India.
He will be based in Mumbai and report to Stephane Honig, head of wealth management, Indian markets, and locally to Jacques Michel, CEO and country head of BNP Paribas Group India.

Additionally, he will also be the global head of India onshore business. The move follows his predecessor Sharad Sharma’s taking on new responsibilities within the BNP Paribas Group.
Before joining BNP Paribas Wealth Management, he was the country head of ING Private Banking in India and prior to that, he had spent eight years with BNP Paribas Wealth Management in India as well as in the Middle East and was with Lazard for five years.
