BNP Paribas Investment Partners (BNPP IP) has launched a new alternatives business, called BNP Paribas Capital Partners (BNPP CP), from its old private equity unit.
BNP Paribas Capital Partners will be headed by Gilles Guérin who reports to Pascal Biville, head of strategy and finance for BNPP IP.

The new business will be launched with 5 billion of assets under management, advisory or administration for institutional and private clients along with a 25-member team.
BNPP CP will offer capabilities such as managing private equity fund of funds and related advisory activities, headed by Jean-Marc Rivet Fusil as well as selection of fund managers with alternative and absolute return strategies.
Additionally, it will also provide operational support (infrastructure and administration) for private equity funds, led by Patrick Perez, who is currently chief operating officer of BNPP CP as well as alternative and absolute return strategies by partnering with Innocap.
The new business also includes BNPP IP incubation activities, led by Max Diulius.
