BNP Paribas Investment Partners has hired Tino Moorrees as new chief executive for Hong Kong, replacing Jean Audibert, who retired in September last year.
Till date, Vincent Camerlynck, the CEO of Asia Pacific, had been taking responsibility for Hong Kong operations on an interim basis.

Moorrees was most recently CEO, representative director and president for BNP Paribas Investment Partners in Japan. He also served as CEO and president director at BNP Paribas Investment Partners Indonesia.
Additionally, the firm has also hired Ryohei Shimazaki as new CEO of BNP Paribas Investment Partners Japan, replacing Moorrees.
In his new role, Shimazaki will be responsible for managing and developing the firm’s business in Japan.
Both Moorrees and Shimazaki will report to Hong Kong-based Vincent Camerlynck, CEO Asia Pacific.

By GlobalDataShimazaki joined BNP from Baring Asset Management (Japan), where he served as president and representative director. Previously, he also held various positions with firms in Asia and Europe, including Baring Brothers and ING Baring Securities.
Shimazaki started his career as a fund manager at Robert Fleming Asset Management in London.

BNP Paribas Investment Partners now has US$58 billion of assets under management across its ten offices in the in Asia-Pacific region.
