BNP Paribas Investment Partners has strengthened its indexed fund and ETF business by appointing Claus Hecher as its new head of business development for Germany, Austria and the German-speaking regions of Switzerland.

Hecher will assume the new role on 1 September, and will be responsible for developing BNP Paribas Easy, BNP Paribas Investment Partners’ ETF as well as indexed solutions franchise, with German-speaking investors, institutions and distribution networks.

He will be based in Munich and report to BNP Paribas Investment Partners head of ETF and indexed fund activities Isabelle Bourcier.

Commenting on the appointment, Bourcier said: “We are very pleased to welcome Claus Hecher to BNP Paribas Investment Partners. His extensive experience of the asset management industry, combined with his excellent knowledge of German-speaking markets, will be a considerable asset in the development of BNP Paribas Easy among investors in Germany, Austria and German-speaking Switzerland. 

“In his new role he will be responsible for expanding the distribution of our existing indexed fund and ETF ranges, as well as supporting the development of our new Smart Beta ETFs in these three markets.”
