LGM Investments, a part of BMO Global Asset Management, has named Stephen Ma as new head of Greater China equities.

Based in Hong Kong, Ma will report to Thomas Vester, chief investment officer at LGM.

Prior to joining LGM, Ma worked with Fidelity managing about US$4bn of assets in China and Hong Kong funds. He joined Fidelity in 1997 and was appointed a portfolio manager in 2006.

Before to this, he served as an investment analyst at EK Investment Management and Hambro Pacific Fund Management, with a focus on Southeast Asia.

At the same time, LGM is also planning to launch a China-focused UCITS vehicle for investors in Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
