BMO Global Asset Management has named David Sloper as head of product management for Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA), replacing Martin Smith.

Smith will remain a member of BMO Global Asset Management’s Responsible Investment Advisory Council, which advises the firm’s Responsible fund range.

Sloper in his new role will oversee BMO Global Asset Management’s EMEA product range and drive product development in response to clients’ needs. He will also sit on the BMO Global Asset Management EMEA management committee.

Sloper was most recently responsible for managing the integration of F&C Investments and BMO Global. He has 30 years of industry experience, over half of which was at the Bank of Montreal, where he was responsible for managing trading and investment portfolios.

Prior to joining BMO in 1998, Sloper managed proprietary bond investment and trading units at BBL London Branch and at Abbey National Treasury Services.
