BlueBay Asset Management, a UK-based investment manager, has named Polina Kurdyavko as new head up its emerging market debt team.

Kurdyavko, who previously co-managed the department with David Dowsett, will now become the sole lead. Dowsett will now become a strategic adviser on emerging markets for the firm.

Even after the reshuffle, both Kurdyavko and Dowsett will continue to report into the company’s chief investment officer, Raphael Robelin.

David’s focus on longer term structural trends in the market, coupled with Polina’s continued leadership of the emerging markets investment team underscores our commitment to being at the forefront of investing for clients.”

Kurdyavko joined BlueBay in July 2005 from UBS where she was a credit analyst in EM corporate research.

Prior to that, she was associated with Alliance Capital as an emerging markets equity analyst and. She began her professional life in a macro research boutique in Russia.

Dowsett has more than 23 years’ investment experience in emerging markets and previously responsible for the emerging market sovereign debt portfolios at BlueBay.

He joined BlueBay in April 2002 from Deutsche Asset Management (formerly Morgan Grenfell Asset Management).
