Blackstone Group has bolstered its international Blackstone Advisory Partners network by hiring Borja Arteaga as senior managing director and Albert Fernandez as managing director based in Madrid.

In his new role, Arteaga will oversee Blackstone’s restructuring and M&A advisory business in the Iberian Peninsula.

Arteaga joined Blackstone from Rothschild, where he most recently served as co-head of the Spanish operations. Prior to this, he worked at Goldman Sachs and Santander.

Fernandez also joined from Rothschild, where he worked for eight years. Before to this, he worked at McKinsey and JP Morgan.

At Rothschild, the pair has led a number of high profile transactions in Spain and focused on M&A, restructuring, equity and refinancing transactions for corporates across a wide range of sectors.
