BlackRock has promoted Stefan Gries as co-manager on the European Absolute Alpha fund alongside Vincent Devlin.

Currently, Gries is a director and research analyst on the European equity team within the alpha strategies group. Gries joined BlackRock in 2008, having previously spent two years at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership alongside Devlin.
Devlin oversees European long/short and continental European portfolios at BlackRock. He has been running European Absolute Alpha since its inception in March 2009.
According to Morningstar, the fund has returned 20.8% over the three years to 21 June, compared with an average return of 13% for the IMA Targeted Absolute Return sector.
