Swan, who has 20 years of experience managing Asia Pacific Equity portfolios, joined BlackRock in August 2011.

BlackRock said that the fund will replicate the investment strategy of the offshore BGF Asian Dragon fund run by Swan which has returned 36% versus the benchmark’s 26% since he restructured the portfolio in October 2011.

The fund aims to achieve long term capital growth by investing primarily in companies domiciled in Asia excluding Japan, BlackRock added.

The fund will invest in companies that can outperform market expectations, typically holding between 50-80 shares at any one time.
