BlackRock Investment Management (UK), the British subsidiary of American money manager BlackRock, has boosted its headcount in UK by nearly 14% last year, taking the total headcount to 2,331, the Financial Times has reported.

In 2012, the division reported a 10.5% increase in headcount taking the tally to 2,050.

BIM (UK) has branches or subsidiary companies in Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, Poland, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Belgium and Korea.

According to the FT report the headcount increase is related to the acquisition of private equity firm MGPA in October last year.

Quoting the firm’s annual report, the publication reported that BlackRock employed an average of 2,140 people in the UK, 86 in Germany, 33 in Italy, 30 in the Netherlands, 19 in France and 19 in Spain during 2013.
