American money manager Blackrock is in talks to hire George Osborne’s top economic aide Rupert Harrison.
The talks between Harrison, a leading architect of Government policy since 2010, and Blackrock are currently at a detailed stage and are expected to be several weeks away from a formal announcement, Sky News reported.

Harrison, who played a key role in helping the UK economy recover from the financial meltdown of 2008, is expected to be recruited in a senior role suiting his experience.
He played an integral part in the return of Northern Rock to the private sector as well as helped formulate a strategy for the government’s disposal of its Lloyds stake.
He was promoted to the Treasury in 2010. Prior to joining Osborne’s team in 2006, he served at the Institute for Fiscal Studies.
