Jones will join BlackRock in a few months to expand the firm’s active equity business, reported Bloomberg.
BlackRock CEO Laurence Fink said that he is looking to improve fund performance in the stock unit to attract assets.
Prior to joining BlackRock, Jones served as CIO for JPMorgan Asset Management’s growth and small-cap US equity team.
Quintin Price, global head of active strategies, said: "We have a great opportunity to take market share in many areas of the actively managed business over the next few years. I am sure Chris Jones’s arrival will help us maximize our impact."
