American money manager BlackRock has appointed Barry Knapp as head of its newly formed Thematic Strategies team.
In his new role, Knapp will be responsible for leading and building a new fixed income strategy team.

Based in New York, he will report to Rick Rieder, CIO of fundamental fixed income and co-head of Americas fixed income at BlackRock.
Most recently, Knapp served as head of US equity portfolio strategy at Barclays.
Previously, he worked with Lehman Brothers for 19 years in various roles including head of US portfolio strategy.
The Thematic Strategies is responsible for finding opportunities for portfolio teams across BlackRock’s fixed income group and focuses on macro themes and market dislocations to generate improved returns.
