American asset management firm BlackRock has appointed Andrew MacKenzie as managing director and head of iShares Middle East and Africa.
In his new role, MacKenzie will focus on driving sales for iShares across the Middle East and Africa, supporting existing client relationships in the official institutions arena as well as researching and prospecting new clients.

He will report to Leen Meijaard, head of EMEA iShares Sales at BlackRock, with additional reporting lines to Nick Anderson, head of MEA at BlackRock and Terry Keeley, head of BlackRock’s Global Official Institutions Group.
Anderson said: "MacKenzie long-standing relationships have earned him ‘trusted adviser’ status with a number of the largest and most sophisticated investors in Europe, Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America.
"We are confident that through his leadership and industry knowledge, Andrew will prove to be a major asset to our team," Anderson concluded.
