London based boutique law firm, Berkeley Law, has hired private client solicitor, George Merrylees, from New Quadrant Partners. Merrylees will be advising international clients with complex private wealth issues, Hazel Biegelsen reports.

Berkeley Law specializes in wealth advice for HNWIs by offering legal solutions to problems with complex requirements. It advises on wealth structuring, tax efficiency, trust issues, asset protection, succession planning, and HNW immigration.

At New Quadrant Partners, Merrylees dealt with private wealth issues with a focus on international tax planning and wealth structuring. He previously worked in shipping law with both Shaw and Croft, and Stephenson Harwood. Merrylees is a member of STEP, a global association for professionals dealing with family inheritance and succession planning.

In April, Berkeley Law acquired the residential property and conveyance firm, Kensington Law and rebranded it Berkeley Hurrell.
