His appointment to the newly created role is effective immediately, the company said.

BDO USA CEO Wayne Berson said: "I want to congratulate Jeff on this new appointment. He possesses a wealth of experience in tax and financial consulting that make him uniquely qualified for this important position. By bringing in a national leader and committing additional resources, we believe we will unlock the vast potential of our private client services both domestically and internationally."

"BDO has always had a strong PCS team working with high net-worth individuals, closely-held business owners and C-suite executives in pockets around the country, but it has never been organized nationally. With the additional resources the firm is putting into PCS, we will be able to unlock the full potential of the practice," said Kane.

BDO’s Private Client Services covers estate and gift, income and trust taxation; charitable giving and philanthropic foundations; executive compensation; and cash-flow, retirement, and life insurance planning.
