Prior to joining Barings, Nowakowski worked with Roubini Global Economics as a senior director of research with principal responsibility for market strategy.

He also served as a strategist and portfolio manager at Atlas Capital and as a strategist at The Rohatyn Group, based in New York.

Barings head of fixed income global Alan Wilde said: "David’s expertise in asset allocation and currency strategy will be invaluable as we seek to expand the breadth of our product set to include alternative fixed income strategies that cover both total return and absolute return strategies.

"This is a process we initiated in 2014 with the appointment of Guy Dunham, and David’s appointment reflects our commitment to this strategy."
