Baring Asset Management (Barings) has appointed James Ross as director of investment process effective 2 September 2013.
In the newly created role, Ross will be responsible to create a new range of products for Barings and review the existing range of funds the company provides.

Based in London, Ross will report to Barings chief investment officer, Marino Valensise.
Valensise said Barings continues to develop products in new investment areas, such as the Baring Frontier Markets Fund and the Baring Emerging Market Corporate Debt Fund.
"These products play on our existing established skill-set in Emerging Markets and Specialist Fixed Income investing. Alongside overseeing the investment process for existing products, this role has been created to develop, implement and regularly review the investment processes for the suite of new products," Valensise said.
Prior to joining Barings, Ross worked at AllianceBernstein for 12 years in various roles such as head of senior portfolio managers covering global growth, and was also involved in the management of the company’s global equity portfolios.
