Baring Asset Management has named Edmund Chong as its new head of sales, client service and business development – distribution, Asia ex-Japan.
Chong most recently served at HSBC Global Asset Management, where he headed the wholesale business sales team.

Earlier, he also had stints in senior roles at BNP Paribas Investment Partners, SG Asset Management, as well as Franklin Templeton.
He began his career at Harris Fraser International where he held the role of a research manager.
In the new role, Chong will be based in Hong Kong, reporting to Barings’ CEO for the region Gerry Ng.
Gerry Ng said, "He brings deep experience of the industry and our key distributors to the firm and joins to lead the Mutual Fund Distribution business at an exciting time as we prepare to launch the Barings Hong Kong domiciled fund range."
