Skachkov, who will be based in London, will focus on the Russia market and report to Henry Fischel-Bock, head of wealth management, Central and Eastern Europe.

Most recently, Skachkov was a senior banker in the private wealth management division of Morgan Stanley, where he led Russian coverage in London, and had also held key Russia and Commonwealth of Independent States coverage roles in private wealth management and institutional equity sales.

And before Morgan Stanley, he was at UBS Securities in New York and Moscow covering Russian institutional equities.

Additionally, reporting to Skachkov will be Anton Moiseev, who has joined Barclays from Morgan Stanley to take up the role of assistant vice president and private banker.

Moiseev has worked as an analyst at Morgan Stanley for three years, prior to which he worked for two insurance firms in Moscow.

On the recent appointment, Henry Fischel-Bock said "Russia is a key target market for Wealth Management (EMEA) and Barclays as a whole due to the volume and growth of wealth in recent years."
