The new office operation will support business and private clients across Surrey and north Hampshire.
The launch of the new office follows the bank’s decision to base a dedicated wealth and investment management team in Guildford because of the growing affluence of the surrounding area.
A study from Barclays has revealed that there were 287,000 millionaires in London and the South East in 2011, and expected this would rise by 35% by 2020.
Dawn Jacobs, corporate director at Barclays, said: "Eight of our specialist sector relationship directors will be based at the offices who are working with clients every day to help them to invest and grow their businesses.
