Barclays Wealth has formed a Head of
Discretionary Investing role – the first to be seen in the
industry – in a push towards the bank’s focus on investment
expertise for discretionary portfolios.

Markus Stadlmann is to fill the position which
involves managing client assets in multi-asset portfolios and
funds and leading the bank’s investment managers’ global teams,
including leaders of the global fixed income and UK equity
solutions.

Discretionary portfolios: Investment
‘bellwethers’

Barclays wealth Asset Management head,
Thomas Rostron, said: “Our investment managers are operating at the
nexus between research, asset allocation, portfolio construction
and behavioural finance and our discretionary portfolios are the
bellwethers of our investment process.’
