By GlobalDataCommenting on the recent developments, Srinivas Siripurapu, head of wealth management, South Asia and Southeast Asia, for Barclays, said "Singapore has established its reputation for high standards of regulation and supervision, as well as a robust legal and judicial framework. As the wealth management industry in Singapore continues to develop in tandem with the burgeoning pace of wealth creation, Barclays is focused on attracting the best private banking talent to tap on this growth."
"Barclays remains committed and focused on hiring senior bankers based out of Singapore to serve our clients in the region. Our recent appointments clearly reflect the strong momentum we have in terms of hiring. Collectively, these four bankers bring more than a century of banking experience with them, proof that the Barclays proposition is very attractive to senior private bankers in Asia," he further added.
Siripurapu had joined Barclays in 2009, and under his leadership, the Southeast Asia and South Asia private banking business in Singapore has grown its revenues by 50% every year, and more than doubled its assets under management.
