Barclays has appointed Jim McCormick as head of asset allocation research and Ian Scott as head of equity strategy.
McCormick will report to Larry Kantor, head of research and Scott will report jointly to McCormick and Tim Whittaker, head of EMEA equity research. McCormick and Scott will be based in London.

As head of asset allocation research, McCormick will drive the firm’s macro and asset allocation strategy globally. He joins Barclays from the institutional investment firm COMAC, where he was chief strategist responsible for all aspects of the investment process.
Prior to joining COMAC, he was the head of european fixed income research and global head of macro strategy at Nomura. McCormick also headed FX and Local Markets Strategy at Citigroup and Lehman Brothers, and has considerable experience in emerging markets research.
Scott has 17 years of experience as an investment strategist at Lehman Brothers and most recently, Nomura. In his prior roles he has had a consistent track record of building successful global equity strategy and quantitative research products. Scott will work closely with the firm’s regional equity strategy teams and with McCormick to deliver an integrated global equity and cross-asset strategy view.
