Sinclair has almost 18 years of experience as a City regulator and has served the office at different positions. She has played a leading role in campaigns to provide redress for the mis-selling of payment protection insurance (PPI) and interest rate hedging products.

Sinclair will join Barclays Bank in October 2013 and will once again work with Hector Sants, who joined Barclays in 2012.

The appointment of Sants was a part of a strategy designed by Barclays’ chief executive, Antony Jenkins, to repair its reputation following its £290 million fine for its role in the Libor rate-rigging scandal.
