Barclays Wealth and Investment Management has appointed Dena Brumpton as head of UK private bank. She will be responsible for running the UK private banking business and helping to drive Barclays’ growth strategy in the UK.
Brumpton will begin her role at Barclays on September 1 2015

Brumpton joins Barclays after working for Citigroup in a variety of roles over the past 30 years. Starting her career in Citi Asset Management, she worked in offshore operations, before taking on a role as a corporate finance transactor based in London and New York. Dena went on to hold roles as global markets chief administrative officer, head of strategy and chief of staff for corporate and investment bank, before most recently acting as global chief operating officer for Citi Private Bank.
Brumpton had previously spoken to PBI , whilst at Citi, about her interest in digital private banking , as well as her experience of being a woman in the industry.

By GlobalDataBrumpton will report to Akshaya Bhargava, chief executive of Barclays Wealth and Investment Management. Bhargava recently joined Barclays in October 2014.
