Bank of America has reportedly hired former Aviva CFO Tom Stoddard as the vice chairman of investment banking.
Stoddard will be based in New York and will oversee the bank’s financial institutions globally, according to an internal memo seen by Reuters.

A Bank of America spokesman confirmed the appointment.
Previously an adviser, Stoddard advised American International Group on its $182bn bailout and restructuring during the financial crisis of 2008.
He was group CFO at Aviva between 2014 and 2019. He is said to be instrumental in helping the British insurer turnaround its ratings and restructure businesses.
Stoddard worked at Athora as interim group CFO before joining Aviva.

Prior to Aviva, he worked on deals and financing transactions at companies such as Blackstone Group and Credit Suisse Group.
During his time at Blackstone, Stoddard worked on several deal in connection with AIG’s massive restructuring.
