AXA Wealth has appointed Alistair Welham as head of marketing to help drive the company’s traditional and digital marketing strategy.

Alistair brings a wealth of marketing experience in the financial services sector having held various roles over the past 25 years.
Alistair’s most recent role with Virgin Money was leading customer marketing, growing the base to over 4m and positioning Virgin in the banking sector.

Prior to his work at Virgin Money, Alistair held a variety of roles in the industry leading savings and investments marketing at Nationwide Building Society and marketing director at Derbyshire Building Society, supporting their adviser business and intermediary lending arm Salt.

Alistair originally began his career at Bristol & West rising to become the marketing director of Hamptons and has also held several high profile roles in the motor industry before returning to financial services.

In his new role, Alistair will lead the creation and delivery of a digital first marketing culture within AXA Wealth, with a specific focus on the Elevate platform.

Alistair will report directly into David Thompson, managing director of Elevate, AXA Wealth, who said: "Alistair joins at an exciting time for AXA Wealth, as the business continues to move towards a more modern, digital, and customer focused wealth management organisation. He brings a huge amount of marketing experience at director level or higher and as such is well placed to help us take the marketing strategy forward."
