AXA Group has named Laurence Boone as its new chief economist and AXA Investment Managers’ (AXA IM) head of research, replacing Eric Chaney who will retire in September 2016.
Boone, who will assume her new role in March 2016, will also sponsor AXA IM’s client relationships with sovereign wealth funds, central banks and state pension funds.

Based in AXA IM’s Paris office, Boone will oversee a global team of 10 economists and investment strategists responsible for providing clients with in-depth, timely, and investable research to make investment decisions.
She will also help AXA IM better understand and meet the needs of sovereign wealth funds, central banks and state pension funds.
As chief economist, Boone will provide a vision on the scenarios for the global economy in the medium to long term, as well as an assessment of the main macroeconomic risks.
Boone joined AXA from Elysée where she worked as special advisor to the French President on multilateral and European economic and financial affairs. Prior to that, she served as chief economist Europe at Bank of America Merrill Lynch Global Research and chief economist France at Barclays Capital.
