French insurer Axa has appointed Brian Winikoff as the new head of its US life, retirement and wealth management operations.

Winikoff will also become a member of Axa’s US executive committee.

Winikoff currently holds the role of president and CEO at Crump Life Insurance Services, which is a distributor of life insurance, long term care insurance, disability insurance and annuity products in the US.
Commenting on the new appointment, Axa US CEO Mark Pearson said: "More than his business acumen, what attracted us most about Brian was his personal qualities.
