Aviva Investors has split its multi-asset solutions portfolio management team into retail and institutional divisions in an effort to give focused advice to each type of client, according to Investment Week.
The retail division, which is headed up by Peter Fitzgerald is in charge of around £30 billion in assets under management within core peer group managed funds, multi-asset funds and risk-targeted solutions.

The institutional team, which is headed by Mirko Cardinale, will encompass with-profits money funds and other institutional mandates.
Fitzgerald, formerly co-head of manager research, will be assisted by managers Nick Samouilhan and Gavin Counsell.
Both teams have access to the same market and manager research expertise, headed up by Shamik Dhar and Ian Aylward respectively.
Risk management will be provided by three multi-asset risk analysts.
Fitzgerald said: "When the same team within a group runs both the multi-asset and multi-manager fund ranges, they tend to compete for the same clients.
