Aviva Investors has named Abigail Herron, a Co-operative Asset Management executive, as head of engagement in its global responsible investment team.

At Co-operative Asset Management, Heron headed-up its corporate governance function, leading engagement, analysis and policy across environmental, social and governance issues. She will report to Aviva’s chief responsible investment officer Steve Waygood.
In her new role, Heron will develop strategy for the firm’s engagement covering all relevant asset classes across equity, fixed income, sovereign debt, property, private equity and multi manager portfolios.
Waygood said: "Abigail brings with her a very strong track record in developing and implementing engagement programmes at the highest level and this background will help build on our achievements so far as we continue to apply our commitment to responsible investment and engagement across the whole scope of our business."
