Aviva Investors has named Mark Connolly as chief investment officer of fixed income, replacing Jean-François Boulier.

Reporting to Aviva Investors CEO Euan Munro, Connolly will be responsible for developing and implementing the asset manager’s fixed income strategies.

In addition, Connolly will also join the Aviva Investors executive committee.

Connolly joined Aviva Investors from Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, where he worked as director and head of fixed income. Prior to joining Swip, Connolly held senior roles at Insight, Deutsche Asset Management and Standard Life Investments.

Meantime, Boulier will continue in his role as chief executive, France.

Munro said: "He brings an invaluable combination of fixed income investment expertise and a successful track record of building cross-market teams which will be vital as we look to grow our fixed income capabilities.
