Swiss banking solutions provider Avaloq has appointed Jurg Hunziker as its new group chief markets officer (group CMO) and deputy CEO.
Hunziker, a former SunGard executive, will join Avaloq as of 1 June 2016 as a member of the Group Executive Board.

Avaloq’s existing group CMO Peter Schopfer will serve as Hunziker’s sparring partner over the coming months to help him settle into the new role.
The company said that Schopfer will continue as a member of its group executive board and board of directors.
Hunziker, who has over 30 years of experience in the financial sector, began his career in capital markets trading at UBS.
During his 27-year tenure at SunGard, Hunziker founded SunGard Europe and most recently served as SunGard’s group president for the global trading, risk and private banking software and services unit.
