Ashcourt Rowan has hired Steven Midgley, former National Australia Bank director, as business director of its financial planning arm.

Midgley will join the company on 24 June 2013 and will report to group chief executive office, Jonathan Polin.

In the new role, Midgley will be responsible for providing business and operational support for the management of the financial planning business and its national development, and ensuring a high standard of client service and operational efficiency.

At National Australia Bank, Midgley was responsible for leading the independent financial advice business and wealth management business across the UK and was key to the design, build and implementation of their RDR proposition.

Prior to National Australia Bank, he held various roles at Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank, including head of financial planning.
