Arden Asset Management, which specialises in the management of hedge fund portfolios, has reportedly unveiled its new Ucits fund of hedge funds domiciled in Ireland.

The Arden Diversified Alternative Strategies fund, will take a multi-manager approach to hedge fund investing, according to Fundweb.

The new fund will also look to maintain relatively low correlation to major equity and fixed-income markets in an environment where both of these asset classes could become "more volatile", the publication quoted the firm’s CEO Averell Mortimer as saying.

"Liquid alternatives can give more options to investors and their advisors, especially in an environment where interest rates may rise in the future and equity returns could be more volatile.

"Launching a Ucits-regulated fund gives non-US investors wider access to the multi-manager portfolios for which we are known but in a format that also offers daily liquidity," he added.
