Apex Fund Services has announced the appointment of Gordon Shaw as Chief Operating Officer of the Apex Group.

Shaw was formerly associated with the Credit Suisse alternative funds business as its Global Head of banking and custody. In his career he has also worked with Fortis Prime Fund Solutions as Group COO and had handled assets worth more than $100 billion and was employed at various locations in the Americas, Europe and Asia.

In his new role, Shaw will increase the use of Apex’s technology based services including Middle Office functions, same day NAV reporting and trading systems. All these services are all fully integrated on a technology platform that allows fund managers to instantly access, manage and trade their portfolio.

Shaw will also be responsible for promoting the entire Apex services through each of the company’s 31 offices. He will be based at the company’s London, UK office.
