ANZ has appointed Arjan de Boer as head of private banking, North East Asia, reports Financial Standard.

In his new role, Boer will be based in Hong Kong and he will oversee ANZ’s private banking business in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

His experience in private banking in Asia includes 14 years at ABN Amro, where he was most recently head of private banking for North Asia.

ANZ managing director wealth Asia Bret Packard said: "We’re delighted to have someone of Arjan’s calibre join our team. His deep knowledge of Asia, management expertise and leadership qualities will further strengthen our Private Banking leadership team."

De Boer starts in his new role 3 June and will report to acting head of private banking Asia Craig Burgess, and Hong Kong chief executive Susan Yuen.
