France’s Anaxis Asset Management has launched a new fixed-term emerging markets high yield bond fund.

The Anaxis Bond Opportunity EM 2020 fund will capture investment opportunities offered by companies in emerging countries. The fund has a set maturity and investment period of five and a half years (until 31 December 2020).

The fund’s portfolio comprises primarily of high yield bonds issued by 42 emerging company corporate in strong currencies mainly USD and EUR.

The EM 2020 fund will offer an annualised return of 7.02% and primarily invest in non-cyclical sectors such as telecoms, healthcare, transport and agri-business but will not invest in financials.

The fund will be available for sale in France, Germany, Italy, Luxembourg, Spain and Switzerland.

Anaxis Asset Management chairman Pierre Giai-Levra said: "Compared to the European and US segments, this segment offers higher returns for an equivalent credit quality. Emerging countries have seen the advent of issuers with solid fundamentals and strong returns."
